Where is everyone?

Whatever you like goes here, but if the subject requires deeper thought and at least two pints of beer, try the "Philosophical Discussion" Category.

It's a bit late, but I feel I must congratulate our American friends on their new President. Obama's campaign reminded me of the excitement and optimism of Bobby Kennedy's. I stayed up all night watching the results come in, half afraid that the polling data was flawed. What a joyous outcome. I imagine Thanksgiving will feel especially good this year. Happy holiday for the 27th.

I'm here! I haven't been around for ages. As some of you know my daughter has been very ill but thankfully is on the mend now. She really is tough as old boots! Unbelievable to think I announced her birth on this very website nearly 4 years ago! She has been an absolute inspiration to us, we have learnt so much from her.

Massive congrats Stef, I'm so happy for you and Selver as well, great news.

Anyway I'm not sure how often I'll be able to post but I just wanted to say a big hallo to everyone that remembers me.

Cheers!

Hello,

It is ages since I posted. I've been busy: working hard doing overtime frequently, continuing to sing and busk, learning to dance (thats jive, quickstep, waltz etc), and occasionally getting away for the weekend. I've just been to Kendal for KMFF, and my interest in mountains and climb(ing)/(ers) has been re-awakened. I bought a book on Climbing and Masculinity, written by a sociologist, and will post my thoughts when I've read it.

I had an MRI scan of my knee in the summer, which I sprained badly in 2004, then again (or so I thought) in early 2007. Turns out I've got a complex tear of the cartilage and a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament. I only went back to the docs cos the sprain didn't seem to be healing completely. I've just heard I've been ref to the Ortho surgeon, so perhaps will need surgery.

Hope all are well, and will post again soon.

Looked on the site for the first time in ages and there's your message.

We have just come back from a holiday in Banff, bit of ski-ing and meeting friends. Beautiful part of the world. Confess I was too busy to find the location of the Mountain film festival, but think it happens in November anyway.

Somewhat surprised to find that actually worked. Previous attempts have failed. This is a new website - yes? :|

I've been here, lurking...

Where has the time gone? I now have two grandchildren: a nigh 10 month old grandson, who crawls, and a nigh 3 month old grandaughter, who sits up and rolls over. Both are precious and I just can't believe it. I feel way to young to be a grandma.

Bulb flowers, here in the north east portion of the USA, are getting ready to bloom and my apple tree is almost ready to blossom. The ten rose bushes in the front yard are coming to life with sprouts of blood red leaves.... looks like it'll be a good spring.... Still waiting on the Japanese Maple to wake up, though...

Oh, dear. This board is clearly in need of resuscitation... and fast!

Hello, everyone.

I'm here to tell you that Selver is now happily (when she's not attempting to bite his head off, that is) married to her Oxford guy, with Cass and her hubby vouching for the couple's sanity at the wedding.

Cass is still freelancing and wreaking havoc in online communities at the tender age of 32, and will probably be hitting UK this summer (fair warning, everyone - do not leave your house unaccompanied, lest you end up drinking with a Serb!). Her kids are aged 8 and 3 now, respectively.

Selver updated you on our latest accommodation arrangements, so I'll just venture to say that I positively HATE the part of the city where we live now... all concrete, proper urban neighborhood.

Well, my Grandson is now walking. He'll be 13 months old tomorrow. My Grand Daughter is now 7 months old and she's doing what babies that age do... rolling over and sitting up.

I'm unemployed, like everyone in America, but getting by. Unemployment and savings are getting me through and paying the bills as I actively look for work. Thank the gods that be that I have a part time job...

Have learned to bottle beer. Have also learned how to cork and cage bottled beer.... If my unemployment continues, I'll learn how to brew beer. (I do know how to successfully the suds: www.weyerbacher.com). Right now I'm enjoying a Hops Infusion (your resident hop head).

Hi :D

Once again, I find myself coming across this forum! Just to update you all, I'm just coming up to finish my first semester as a medical student in December and how things have changed! Would be really brilliant to get the forum up and running smoothly again to have a catch up! :)
