If you speak talian I can give you a hold host of info on Northen Italy and the best places to go plus a good website. If not send me an e-mail on any particular areas you want to go and I'll see what info I can dig up for you.

Thanks for the offer Neil. I had started a thread at http://www.noordinaryjoe.co.uk/forum/to ... PIC_ID=410 asking for info/help which is probably the best place for this thread. I was planning to head for the parks, east of Roma which look interesting, are a bit further south and we fly in/out of Roma. Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga is one of them.

Am currently trying to learn Italian through a teach yourself CD. I do 2 5 hour drives through the bush each week and can be heard reciting my 'survival phrases'. I have someway to go!

If you have any thoughts or knowledge of these parts of Italy, it would be much appreciated. In particular, there is supposed to be a long distance footpath (E1 I think) which traveres the length of Italy and I was keen to have a go at a section that went through these parks.
